Ever wondered what it takes to travel to and explore the Moon or Mars?

Campers learn the FUNdamentals of space missions and technology development using design and systems thinking approaches.

Campers will use their innate curiosity and critical thinking skills to DESIGN and BUILD creative solutions for:

  • a crew to live and work comfortably in space
  • carrying and transporting sensing hardware for characterizing an atmosphere or surface environment
  • launching crew and payloads into space

  • What makes this camp different from other STEM or space-themed camps?

Campers learn from aerospace engineering, NASA and industrial design PROFESSIONALS with decades of REAL experience:

  • Amber Agee-DeHart: Co-Founder and Director of Cubes in Space, Designed and managed aerospace education student and teacher programs for NASA, 25+ years of instructional design experience
  • Frank Peri: 35+ years at NASA leading agency space exploration programs for the Earth, Moon and Mars; Cubes in Space Technical Director
  • Peter Tlusty: NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador, 10+ years coaching students in NASA and rocketry competitions, Cubes in Space Subject Matter Expert
  • Robert Sowah: Co-Founder Cubes in Space and CEO of idoodlelearning inc, 25+ years of leading technology development corporations
  • Amber Agee-DeHart, Frank Peri and Peter Tlusty are traveling from the US to conduct this awesome STEAM-based experience!

  • Introducing our newest industry expert:
    Marta Antoskwiecz:
20+ years of industrial design experience in Silicon Valley and Canada collaborating with global brand and technology clients such as Nintendo, Apple, Sony, Meta, Lexus, Roku and Sephora

  • A High-Quality Learning Experience:

Campers are exposed to higher level space mission design and technology development concepts where THEY solve open-ended problems to design and build creative solutions. All activities are thoughtfully created and curated for a wide range of students with diverse interests and learning styles. Activities engage campers' minds as they build knowledge and skills in a fun and dynamic environment with games and hands-on challenges!

Through a user-centric process, students learn to uncover real needs, generate innovative ideas, and refine solutions through iteration and feedback. This method equips them to balance creativity with technical rigor to present and deliver impactful, real-world designs.

Space Exploration Themes - Getting There, Living There, Working There

FUNdamentals of Design Thinking and Space Mission Design

Curiosity and inquiry lead the way! Campers learn to ask the right questions AND ask the question "right" to gather information. The information is used for making decisions that lead to designing and building solutions for space missions and for living in small areas during transit or surface habitation.

    Space Transportation Systems

Science and engineering merge in the design of aerodynamic systems capable of lifting, launching and transporting crew and different sizes of payloads. Campers will design and build payload gondolas for balloon missions with environmental-sensing hardware along with building and launching their own model rockets.

    Technology Development and Deployment

Whether crew are taking Martian or lunar surface measurements in situ or conducting remote missions with data transmission, technology development and testing follows a logical and standard set of processes. Campers get seriously geeky when using sensing hardware, they assembled to design and conduct their own outdoor exploration missions on land and in the air!
